My name is Markus Sommer. I am 58 years old, a chromate expert, and, in that capacity, the editor of this online magazine.

For over 35 years, my primary profession has been in the field of high-temperature insulation, and this online magazine is dedicated to that area of application

In this magazine, I write from time to time about my experiences in the aforementioned industry, particularly regarding the formation of chromium(VI) compounds—so-called “chromates”—which are formed primarily by calcium-containing gaskets, insulation fabrics, and high-temperature insulation materials.
